In this presentation, Digital Promise describes the current challenges with edtech procurement. This includes an overview of our understanding on why districts have edtech contracts, how much is spent, whether it's used effectively, and if we're seeing an impact on outcomes. The presentation then explores resources and strategies to support district leaders with creating the infrastructure to regularly reference data to answer these questions for their community, including product certifications, the 5 Edtech Quality Indicators, and Outcomes Based Contracting (OBC). Additionally, there is information about OBC edtech contracts and assets the process brings to districts, including intentionality and detailed plans for implementation.
